Yes Sire, the long wait has ended. A Supreme court directive coupled with a consensus amongst the law schools has led to the creation of a Common Entrance Examination for the national law universities. The effect: 2008 (early May) will witness the first CET for national law universities.

Every Law school conducts its own entrance exam. However, the areas covered in the tests are similar and the test patterns also are broadly similar, with a little difference in emphasis on particular areas

No, each college conducts its own entrance exam. The good news is that most of the exams are similar so you don't really have to prepare separately for each.
